Software Engineer - Fullstack Developer
Job Description:
ABOUT THE TEAM & SYSTEM
You'll join the team that owns our Collection System — the core debt-collection platform for the organization. It aggregates and orchestrates collection activity for hundreds of concurrent collection agents, powering everything from overdue-account assignment to ML-driven collector routing and fine-grained, hierarchy-based data permissioning.
We're currently leading a foundational, long-term rebuild of this platform — not a quick-win project. The goal is to modernize the system's architecture, scalability, testability, and security posture to support the company's collection ecosystem for years to come, moving off a legacy foundation and onto a modern, modular, cloud-native stack.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design, build, and maintain features across the Collection System full stack — frontend, backend, and the data layer.
- Build for high performance and reliability: the platform handles 100,000+ transactions per day with near real-time data synchronization across services.
- Apply clean architecture and SOLID principles, using Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Event-Driven Design (EDD) patterns to keep the system modular, testable, and extensible as it scales.
- Contribute to the platform's next-generation rebuild — replacing legacy, tightly-coupled logic with well-tested, framework-supported modules.
- Write automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) as a first-class part of delivery, not an afterthought.
- Work within our DevSecOps pipeline — containerized deployments, infrastructure as code, and security/dependency scanning built into every merge.
- Collaborate closely with product, QA, and the operations team in an Agile delivery model.
TECH STACK
Core (minimum requirements)
- Languages: TypeScript (required); Python or Ruby (Rails) experience a strong plus
- Frontend: Vue.js or Next.js, written in TypeScript
- Backend: Node.js (TypeScript) — NestJS experience preferred
- Databases: MongoDB and MySQL
Cloud & DevSecOps
- AWS as the primary cloud platform, with a cloud-native approach to architecture
- Containerization with Docker; deployment on ECS and EKS (Kubernetes)
- CI/CD via GitHub Actions
- Infrastructure as Code with Terraform / Terragrunt
Testing
- Unit & integration testing (Jest)
- End-to-end testing (Cypress or Playwright)
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Solid fundamentals in TypeScript and modern web application development.
- Understanding of, or genuine interest in, clean code, clean architecture, SOLID principles, and Domain-Driven / Event-Driven Design — we'll help you deepen this on the job.
- Comfort with relational and document databases (MongoDB, MySQL) and working knowledge of container-based deployment (Docker, Kubernetes).
- A quality mindset: you write tests, care about maintainability, and think about the next engineer who touches your code.
- Prior exposure to back office, fintech, or lending/credit systems is an advantage but not required.
- Familiarity with core banking or regulatory-compliance systems is a plus.
WHY THIS ROLE
- Work on a genuinely challenging, business-critical system where your work has real, visible impact — this platform is central to how the company operates.
- Learn and apply modern, high-performance tech stacks built to handle real production scale (100,000+ transactions/day, near real-time sync).
- Help shape a next-generation platform from the ground up: modern architecture, cloud-native AWS infrastructure, and a proper DevSecOps delivery pipeline.
- Grow alongside a team that deliberately invests in long-term engineering foundations rather than short-term patches — with a manager and senior engineers who care about mentoring.
A NOTE TO CANDIDATES
This role involves genuinely challenging work on a system that is critical to the business. We're specifically looking for an outstanding junior-to-mid engineer who is ready to be stretched, learn fast, and grow with us — deep prior experience is welcome but less important than curiosity, ownership, and a strong engineering mindset.
